Take us through a written walk down your street and to your favorite place through the eyes of somebody else. After all, it's all about creation in any volume, right? The 30-Day Writing Challenge Day 1 The best part is that you can write as much or as little as you'd like without pressure and without having to feel bad about it. This is the 30-Day Writing Challenge, where we've provided creative writing exercises for every day of the month. That's why we've created a less intense alternative to 50,000 words in 30 days. Writing for a few minutes every day doesn't sound so scary, does it? The trick is that it all adds up. (Like, I guess one date wouldn't hurt, and it might be fun to post that I'm "in a relationship" on Facebook.) In reality, writing doesn't have to be so intense. Luckily, the ability to produce a high volume of good writing doesn't just happen overnight. I'd still like to write every day it's just that producing such a high volume in such a short amount of time is what sends single girls like me running and screaming. I get all of it.Įven so, I would like to see my family for more than 30 minutes after I get home from work, and- sue me-but going to new restaurants with my friends is, like, the Olympic sport of my life. Okay, so I know the idea is that even moms and full-time employees can find time, that prioritizing writing over other things is important to nurture your artistic self, and that fitting writing into your day every day is what makes a writer, well, a writer. So forgive me for not jumping at the opportunity to write 50,000 words in a month. I'm the person who researches the restaurant ahead of time and still stares at the menu long after everyone has decided what to order. I've had three separate Facebook accounts, over 10 different email addresses (five of which are currently active), and I've dyed my hair more colors than I could count on both my fingers and my toes. I find it difficult to choose a movie because I think two hours is too long to focus on the same story. If you do not want to use the columns for the totals, you can just leave them blank or draw a line through them.I don't know about you, but I'm afraid of commitment. This pushes me, so I added it for everyone else. I am the person who likes to check things off, and adding a total column feels the same way. That is another great thing about the 30 day writing challenge. We do not realize just how much our words add up. In 30 days you would have almost half a book. I also made a “1000 Words a Day” 30 Day Writing Challenge for those of you who want a little more of a challenge, or for those of you who want to get serious about that book you have always wanted to write. I am anxious to do this now with writing. This is going to be a great exercise for me in quieting my mind and finding those sacred moments to write when everything else is screaming for my attention. I tend to write in chunks, but I want to get better about doing it daily. I know some days I will do more than that, but the main thing I want to do is work the writing muscle and develop self-discipline with doing it daily. I am going to do a 500 word a day for my 30 Day Writing Challenge. So, with that in mind, I decided to do a 30 Day Writing Challenge. Life is too fleeting to let it pass by and not sing the song in our soul. And after doing the 1000 pages in 30 days reading challenge, a book a month now seems easy.īut the most important thing is to set yourself a goal, challenge yourself to do what you really want to do. I did a reading challenge earlier this year, 1000 Pages in 30 Days Challenge, and it showed me that it is more possible than I realized to make that time when I make something a priority. It was a world in which I could not wait to immerse myself and know more.īut even with my love of the written word, I do not always find as much time as I would like in the busyness of life to do what I love…reading, writing, photography, and art. This magical place had been unlocked for me. I remember when a young military wife who lived across the street taught me to read my first words. Ever since I can remember, I have been in love with the written word and the power it holds. That is one of the earliest memories my mom would tell you about me. 30 Day Writing Challenge: 500 Words a Day or 1000 Words a Day Free, Printable Challenge Sheets
